Poetry Absurdity: Tall Green Aliens

I warned you. I told you this was going to happen—the poetry continues—and…yeah. I don’t know what else to say, or is it write? I don’t know. You know what I’m saying…I hope. I’m going to semi-randomly select a poem from a heaping pile of wordy expressions and basically hope I don’t embarrass myself too much. Sound like a plan? Great! It’s the only one I have.

Tall Green Aliens

The sky is on fire.

Things are flying everywhere.

Oh shit! Look up! Oh no! Here they come!

See those silver spaceships,

Those colorful lasers,

The sky is burning,

Earth is rattling,

The tall green men are here,

Oh fuck! Run away! Oh yes! Here they are!

Mountains are melting,

Seas are evaporating,

The silver spaceships are hovering,

Oh fuck! I can’t run! Oh yes! The tractor beam got me!

Up, Up, Up, I go.

Here I am.

Inside a silver spaceship.

Here they are.

Tall green aliens.

Laser guns in their hands.

Down, down, down,

Down some stairs.

Through a corridor.

Blinking lights everywhere.

Oh fuck! Here they are! Tall green aliens,

Spacesuits around their body,

Run, run, run,

They’ll never catch me,

Zap, zap, zap,

Miss, miss, miss,

Jump, jump, jump,

The steps lead somewhere,

Where am I?

To the stars!

I’m on the run,

Run, run, run,

Sitting in a seat,

I take control,

Thrusters on full burn,

The cosmos whipping by,

Oh Fuck! I don’t know how to control this thing!

Tall green aliens floating everywhere,

We’re going somewhere,

I don’t know where.

    1. Difficult to estimate. Many hominids are taller than I, but I estimate around 15 feet, or about 4. something meters, in other words, pretty damn tall. Did I mention they were green?

This is based on real life.
